This 2019 session provides an excellent example of guardian lies producing dread, avoidance, and resistance that hinder the recipient’s connection with Jesus. Fortunately, this session also provides an excellent example of the connection with Jesus improving as guardian lies are identified and resolved.

You will notice that I am much more active as the facilitator – this is partly because I was doing so much work to help identify and get words for the guardian lies, and partly because I got so excited about the Immanuel Approach that I forgot my own teaching about letting Jesus drive.

At the four-month follow-up interview, Sharon reports that the benefits with respect to resolved guardian lies and improved connection with Jesus have remained. She also describes thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that have spontaneously, effortlessly shifted from child-adolescent maturity to adult maturity.
